What does a graphic designer do?
Graphic design is a broad term. Graphic designers often specialise in a certain discipline – and many are multidisciplinary – like digital design, packaging design, web design, print design, branding, etc. If you think you’re in need of a graphic designer, get in touch with the Weekday team; our designers are always willing to help, or point you in the direction of someone who can help.
When should you hire a Graphic Designer?
If you have a project that has any kind of visual aspect, you might want to engage a graphic designer. This could be something as seemingly simple as a flyer, or something as major as a full rebrand of a multinational company. Designers are involved in all kinds of projects like these and everything in between.
What’s the difference between graphic and digital design?
Graphic design is a somewhat outdated term – our team prefers ‘designers’ – but broadly, it relates to the umbrella under which other types of design (digital, print, web, branding, packaging, etc) sit. Digital design is design that is intended for digital platforms like websites, animation, videos, and so on.
What are the services offered by a graphic designer?

What is ‘full service’ graphic design?
Weekday describes itself as a ‘full service’ design agency, and that’s because our designers are multidisciplinary. Within our team we can help you with digital design, packaging design, web design, print design, branding and more. While each of our designers has their favoured disciplines, as an agency, we can provide support on almost any design-based job.
Is graphic design just a logo?

Graphic designers often specialise in a certain discipline – and many are multidisciplinary – like digital design, packaging design, web design, print design, branding, etc. If you need a logo, Weekday’s graphic designers can certainly help with that, but they can also help you with a wide range of different services.

Weekday builds websites that look good, prioritise user experience (UX), and scale with your business needs.
What does web design and development do?
Web design is focused on the visual aspects of a website, and the way it functions on a user level (the user experience or UX). Web development transforms the design into code and works on all the technical attributes of a website to bring design to life.
Is a web designer the same as a web developer?
While many web designers are also web developers or have development skills, the two roles are separate and it’s more common to interact with a creative who specialises in only one of these areas.
Do web designers do coding?
Some web designers can code and a basic understanding of code can be helpful to create design that meets functional requirements, but it is not typically a requirement of web designers to need to code. There are lots of great, no-code or low-code options out there for websites now, including Webflow.
What is the difference between UI and UX?
What is the difference between UI and UX?
UI stands for user interface while UX stands for user experience. The interface is how a user interacts with a website or an app, while the experience is the ease and enjoyment of the interaction. UI and UX can overlap with each other. For example, if a website is not optimised for mobile, that is a failing in UI and it can make the UX poor.
How to create a website?
Building a website is easier than ever, but to build a website that meets your business goals and needs, it’s best to start by meeting with a web designer or web developer – we have some great ones in-house here at Weekday! – who will ask you questions and offer up some starting points.
What are the three basic elements of a website?
Websites can be relatively simple or as complex as you would like but all websites need three things: a domain name, hosting, and content. A domain name is the address for your website, like weekdaygroup.com.au . All websites need to be hosted somewhere so that all the files (images, videos, etc) and the site itself can ‘live’ somewhere. The content is everything else: your branding, the images, videos, copy, buttons, links, banners … everything!

Creative Copywriting and Proofreading Services
Copy that cuts through. Clear, consistent, and clean across every channel.
What exactly does a copywriter do?
Copywriting is a creative service focused on writing persuasively to encourage readers to take action. Copywriters write all the words you see on advertisements, websites, brochures – any marketing material. Writing is not the only thing copywriters do; interviewing, researching, proofreading, and restructuring all fall under the remit of a copywriter.
Are proofreading and copyediting the same thing?
No, proofreading and copyediting are not the same thing! Copyediting happens once copy has been provided as a first draft. In this stage, major changes might happen, including language changes, structural edits, fact-checking, style-based decisions, and so on. Proofreading is typically the last step before content is published. It’s a final sweep through everything to ensure grammar and spelling is correct and that there are no formatting inconsistencies
Why do they call it copy in copywriting?
When you hear us refer to ‘copy’, we mean the words on the page (or your screen). The reason it’s called copy can be traced back a couple of centuries. The word ‘copy’ refers to text that was designed to be copied – that is, reproduced on mass. For example, a journalist in the 1800s may have prepared ‘copy’, providing it to the printers for them to reproduce hundreds of thousands of times over on their presses.
What’s the difference between copyright and copywrite?
Copyright is all about determining who owns the expression of an idea – like a book, a piece of art, or a song. Copywriting, on the other hand, is a creative service, focused on writing persuasively to encourage readers to take action.
Is copywriting just writing?
All copywriting is writing, but not all writing is copywriting. Copywriting is a creative service focused on writing persuasively to encourage readers to take action. Sometimes this is simple and explicitly asking for a specific action, and other times it is about storytelling to move audiences. There is no formula for copywriting, but you can measure it by how audiences respond to the words.
What do we mean by proofreading?
Proofreading is typically the last step before content is published. It’s a final sweep through everything to ensure grammar and spelling is correct and that there are no formatting inconsistencies. Proofreading doesn’t attempt to restructure or question concepts in the content.
